    Czech citizens in Zambia: Preliminary research on the process of adaptation

    This study describes the process of adaptation of citizens of the Czech Republic to the cardinally different cultural, societal and environmental conditions of the African continent. In the theoretical section the focus is on the issues of immigrants andexpatriates in the globally inter-connected world and the process of psychological adaptation of an individual to a foreign culture. In this paper, we have identified key skills and competencies, whose training in the period before the departure shouldhelp Czech immigrants and expatriates to adapt more successfully to the African culture. These key topics are going to be applied in the following research on the adaptation of Czech immigrants and expatriates on African continent.
