    The paper contains some results obtained from the process of experimental particle board sawing. It describes the course of circular saw blade blunting, and attempts at an assessment of the effect of circular saw blade size and of the effect of aerodynamic and passive resistances on the total power required for sawing. The total cutting power is to a considerable extent influenced by the proportion of power consumption for idle running, particularly at the low utilization of working hours.
