The mechanical design of Juglans nigra trees

Original language description

Three stems of Juglans nigra had been chopped down and several logs from different heights have been cut out. Consecutively, specimens for compression test have been cut out and the compressive tests in the direction of fibers were carried out to learn the mechanical properties. Than the variability and distribution of wood properties was probed, and the function describing distribution of these properties through the diameter and height of the tree have been detected.
