Geographic Information System (GIS) development allows new tools and possibilities for ecological damage evaluation especially on large areas. The paper deals with ecological damage determination in consequence of wind calamity in November 2004 - in part High Tatras. Environment damage was presented by the damage on all-society forest functions. The basic data proceeding was carried out in ArcGIS space in two main and two completive steps. The goal of first analyse was to explore the possibilities of application of the method Quantification and Evaluation of Forest Functions in High Tatras conditions. The second step was forest stands damage degree evaluation. Four calamity damage degree groups were identified on the base of analyse of orthophoto screens and verification by own fieldwork.
