Observations of molybdenite in carbonatites of Lugiin Gol massif in Mongolia, part I: Implications to origin of carbonatites
Original language description
The molybdenite is extremly rare in carbonatites. Molybdenite shows intergrowth with sulfides and REE minerals in carbonatites of Lugiin Gol REE deposit. The carbonatites show high Sr and REE contents, and mantle-derived C and O isotopes, indicating an igneous origin. High Re (average 0.25 wt.% ReO) content in molybdenite also supports that mineralized substances originated from the mantle.
