Hedonic influence of volatile organic compounds emitted by finished surface of furniture parts
Original language description
This paper investigates the problematic of VOC emissions and their assessment by olfactometric methods. The main of goal of this research is determination odour emitted by the different kind of solid wood in the form wood shavings. There are tested threekind of wood: Scotch pine (Pinus sylvestris L.), English oak (Quercus robur) and west red cedar (Thuja plicata). This contribution describes the relationship between the results recorded olfaktometric assessment and the results of volatile organic compounds emitted by choice kind of wood measured by GC-MS. The observed intensity is dependent on the amount of odorants emitted volatile compounds, the exposure of quantity of TVOC to human olfactometric system and influence of the different olfactometric stimuli on the human body: - the intensity of sensation (the subjective sensation of various degrees perception by human --from the very small odor to the extremely intense odor) - hedonic tone (pleasant odor, unpleasant, this tone may be
