Original language description
This paper investigates the problematic of VOC emissions and their assessment by olfactory methods. The main goal of this contribution is determine the odors emitted by upholstery fabrics used for upholstered furniture. Three kinds of upholstery fabricsof various chemical compositions were tested: textile - Polyester (100%), textile - Cotton (100%), textile - Viscose(63%), Cotton (37%). This contribution researches the correlation between the results, which were obtained by the olfactory assessment and(the results of) the measurements of volatile organic compounds emitted by (choose) the kind of covering textiles. The observed odor intensity is dependent on the amount of odorants emitted volatile compounds, the exposure of quantity of TVOC to human olfactory system and the influence of the different olfactory stimuli on the human body, expressed as the intensity of sensation and hedonic tone.
