Effective modulus from cyclic CBR test
Original language description
In the construction of rural roads, as happens with urban roads, there is a big modification in the look of the area and there is a need of knowledge to work on it. It is very important to know what is going to be the mechanical behavior of the soil in which the road is going to be built. The property that best defines that behavior is the resilient modulus. Until now, the most used method to calculate this modulus uses the data obtained from CBR standard test, but that information does not describe thenature of the soil. Some tests are being carried out with the CBR machine at Mendel University, using the research done by Molenaar, in order to develop a new method that describes better the behavior of the soil.
