The project aims to explore innovative methods of furniture/interior design and construction based on Austrian and Czech design traditions. An important topic is to add the principles of sustainability to the design tradition and enable students to apply these principles to the traditional development process. In a one-week Experimental Furniture Design workshop at FHS, the students from MENDELU and FHS develop their experimental concepts. Students follow the main steps of a design process, from ideation, concept development to prototype development and follow the principles of sustainability. They develop their furniture/interior design concept, create first models, and build them in the workshop. The built model provides a good idea of the concept and helps to get a clear vision of the product.
