Evaluation of precocious decline of young apricot orchards in the Czech Republic
Original language description
In 2009-2010, commercial and experimental apricot orchards were screened visually for occurrence of the European stone fruit yellows (ESFY), precocious decline of apricots (apoplexy) and Sharka virus (Plum pox virus). Eleven cultivars were evaluated ('Goldrich', 'Aurora', 'Pincot', 'Silvercot', 'Tardicot', 'Hargrand', 'Bergeron', 'Orange red', 'Leskora', 'Sylred' and 'Kioto') in commercial and experimental orchards and 4 rootstocks (Wangenheim, Montclare, Myrobalan and Waxwa). Moreover, disease occurence was studied on 3 cultivars ('Aurora', 'Pincot', 'Goldrich'), which were planted in a different year, namely in 2003 and 2008. In total, in both types of orchards, precocious apricot decline occurred most frequently (10.70% trees); on the other hand, the tested set was least affected by the symptoms of Plum pox virus (0.45% trees). In the commercial orchards, there was approx. by 2% higher occurence of diseases than in the experimental orchards. In total, the most susceptible to pathoge
