Preliminary evaluation of basic biological traits of apricots on selected rootstocks
Original language description
The objective of the 2007-2010 study was to monitor the influence of the rootstock on basic biological and economic traits of apricots and to select the most suitable combination. An experimental orchard was planted in 2004 on the field of the Departmentof Fruit Growing in Lednice. In total, 3 apricot cultivars grown on 7 or 5 different rootstocks were monitored (with a total of 19 combinations). The evaluation included demands for pruning, trunk cross area (TCA) and precocious decline of apricots. Allfindings were compared against the control variant 'Marlen' cultivar on M-LE-1 rootstock and statistically evaluated. The most resistant rootstock to precocious decline was 'Julior' (28.57% of precociously declined trees). The highest yield was observedin the Ishtara rootstock (0.0664 kg cm-2). The MYKL- A rootstock required least pruning (156.01 s/tree) from all evaluated rootstocks. The Penta rootstock proved higher demands for pruning (197.10 s/tree) and at the same time the lowest
