Comparison of quality and quantity of flowering stems from directly sowing or precultivated plants planted on different densities was therefore a point of research. For precultivation, seeds were sown on March 1996, seedlings were transplanted to 40 mm culticells and planted to May 1996 in a density 16 and 32 plants per m2. Directly were seeds sown on May 1996 to rows 0,3 m apart, and for 32 plants per m2 were thinned. Precultivated plants were flowering sooner than directly sown plants. However, plantsfrom direct sowing resist better to a pressure of fungal pathogens till to the end of season and were harvested till to mid of October. Data in the chart indicate higher yield of flowering stems in planting density 32 plants per m2 in comparison to currently advised 16 plants per m2.
