Original language description

Axillary meristems due to apical dominance remain inhibited as axillary buds. Cytokinins, activators of cell division, can release them from inhibition and promote their outgrowth. In the present work we followed the question, whether the different bud size of the model correspond with different growth and development and how do the levels of cytokinins change during bud outgrowth. Axillary buds from the second primary scales of pea after excision from mother plants were divided into two groups: -smallbuds- (1-3 mm) and -large buds- (3.1-10 mm). After surface-sterlization buds were grown in vitro on Murashige-Skoog medium with half concentration of the nutrients. The development of buds was observed for 4 weeks and monitored in weekly intervals.
