Effect of inoculation with endomycorrhizal fungi on the growth of selected plants
Original language description
The effectiveness of inoculation of lettuce (Luctuca sativa, var. jupiter), banana plants (Musa sp., var. cavendish) and of apple-trees (Malus domestice, var. jonagold) by preparation containing arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) was followed in pot experiments. Two preparations were tested: a) Vambac, which is composed of AMF Glomus and Gigaspora and bacteria Agrobacterium radiobacter and b) Glomus mosseae Beg 25. The following parameterswere estimated: the intensity of rootś colonization (i. e. density of hyphae and presence of arbuscules and vesicles), the biomass and nutrient content of the above- and under-ground parts of plants (lettuce, banana plants) and the ability of plants to overcomestress conditions (drought, high content of arsenic in thesoil. Inoculation of plants by AM fungi increased the colonization of roots in average four times, significantly increased the biomass of roots and content of N,P,K in the above-ground biomass (lettuce, banana plants).
