Amino acids content in leaves of birch
Original language description
In the area of the eastern Ore Mts., the total amino acid content was determined in birch leaves within stands of the II. age class (Klášterec and Janov transects) and within stands of the I., II. and III. age classes (Litvínov transect). Assessments were performed regards the transect and elevation (both only in the II. age class), in the Litvínov transect also regards the age class. For assessments of potential air-pollution impact, Q index and So/N molar index were used. It was revealed that there were amino acid content differences between the transects. The content of amino acids did not suggest any disturbation of their metabolism. In spite of that, the differences could be explained by different air-pollution load.
