The purpose of this paper is to review the possibilities of the evaluation and the targeting of existing compensation programs, which are designed to protect and enhance cultural landscape in the Czech Republic from an economic point of view The generalequilibrium framework, which derives the conditions for a competitive equilibrium, is used for argumentation, that improving already developed compensation schemes requires the demand side to be taken into account
