Polymorphism of genes encoding for ryanodine receptor, growth hormone, leptin and MYC protooncogene protein and meat production in Duroc pigs
Original language description
This study investigated the associations of polymorphisms of candidate genes of the ryanodine receptor (RYR1), growth hormone (GH), c-myc proto-oncogene (MYC)and leptine (LEP) with production parameters in pigs of Duroc breed. Using PCR-RFLP, polymorphism was detected in RYR1 (HhaI), GH (MspI a HaeII), MYC (HpaII) and LEP (HinfI) genes. Only RYR1 gene was monomorphic. Both types of GH polymorphism did not show any effect on variability of meat performance traits under study and GH-MspI affected only average daily gains. LEP gene influenced highly significantly average daily gains and the thickness and significantly the lean meat content. MYC genotypes showed a highly significant effect on average daily gains and average daily gain in test. These results suggested that in the Duroc breed the investigated polymorphic sites of candidate genes were significantly associated with pork production.
