For teaching of SWOT analysis the case study about business environment from the viniculture and wine production sector in the Czech Republic is used in seminars of the subject Management at FBE MUAF in Brno. 180 students of 2nd and 3rd year of full-timestudy of managerial-economic branch solved SWOT analysis in this case in the winter semester of the academic year 2002/2003. Their objective was to identify factors of external environment (opportunities and threats) and factors of internal environment(strengths and weaknesses of business) and to create a SWOT matrix for the business. The paper comprises results acquired by analyzing cases, evaluates skills of students to work with information included in the case study, also skills of students to find further information from other resources. Conclusions of this paper include recommendations for teachers towards increasing quality of educational process in the seminars of the subject Management.
