At present, classical cage technologies are being used in approximately 96 % of commercial flocks of laying hens in the Czech Republic. Under these conditions, the total area available for one hen ranges from 450 to 500 sq. cm. The instruction of EU Council 99/74 accurate the requirements of alternative cage technologies with should be make after 2003 year. The aim of this project is to develope a systems with enriched cage technologies with conformity of new council. The choice hybrid combination of lay hens will be tested on efficiency in one year test. It will be evaluated egg efficiency egg quality, welfare, enviroment condition and economic of this systems. This instruction should ban the use of non-improved cage batteries after the year 2012 andrecommends the use of the above improved cages and/or alternative methods of poultry rearing.
