In order to determinate the incidence of T. gondii and other intestinal parasites in the rural areas of South Moravia (Czech Republic), 358 samples of cat faeces were examined using the sugar-flotation method. Out of the 358 cats 3,4 % excreted oocysts sized 10-15 x 10-13 um, which were denominated as Toxoplasma/Hammondia-complex of oocysts. Questionnaires were placed in the villages in order to evaluated owners´ knowledge of toxoplasmosis, and the results of this part of survey showed this knowledge asinsufficient.
