Comparison of three caesium binders affecting the 137-Cs transfer from feed to meat of broiler chicken.
Original language description
Effects of three binders RADEKONT (R), modified clinoptilolite (98% of clinoptilolite + 2% of FeHCF), FIX-a-TOX (F), dried colloid silica sol with an addition of a number of clay minerals, and BIFEZH (B), a sorbent containing cellulose and 7-10% of hexacyanoferrate, added to the feed mixtures on the 137Cs transfer from contaminated feed into broiler chicken meat were compared. Unlike R and F, the binder B was most effective probably because of content of hexacyanoferrates in the binder was the highest. For most of the fattening periods no significant differences were found between breast and thigh meat in the suppression effect of the binders. R, F, and B can be efficiently used as radiocaesium binders to suppress the uptake of 137Cs by broiler chickenmeat from the feed mixture.
