TULARAEMIA IN THE HARE (Lepus europaeus Pall.)
Original language description
Results of our study proved that tularaemia as a classical disease of natural foci occurrence may remain in areas of conditions suitable for the long-term survival of the causative agent in the environment. Sensitive hosts (such as the hare) are one of the most important factors. Overcrowded hare (Lepus europaeus) populations create suitable conditions for the spread of the disease under natural conditions and can be a source of infection even for the man. According to our findings it is necessary to suppose the presence of the causative agent constantly in the hare as well as the transmission of the agent among hares. The manner and way of transmission have yet to be clarified.
