Original language description

Antibiotic plays an important role in therapy of bacterial infections, but at the same time, their use increases the risk of occurrence and development of antibiotic resistance in bacteria. The usage of antimicrobial substances in medicated feed is the most critical way of administration of veterinary medicinal products for veterinary use especially in mass application of medicaments in food producing animals (pigs, broilers). Therefore the National Program of Antibiotic policy of the Czech republic wasassessed for antimicrobial therapy. Antibiotic policy means the sum of provision for prudent and responsible use of antimicrobial agents in human and veterinary medicine.
