A three-year-old intact female guinea pig was presented to the due to a four-month history of nonpruritic hair loss on the abdomen. The clinical findings revealed mild apathy, complete alopecia over the abdomen and flanks, hyperkeratosis of the nipples,caudal abdominal masses and enlarged uterine horns. The vulva was not covered by the membrane and viscous discharge from the vagina was present. Urine examination revealed hematuria with a pH of 7. Laboratory results showed elevated glucose and estradiolconcentrations (241 pmol/L). Radiography and ultrasonography showed cystic structures in the place of ovaries, thickening of the uterus and multiple circular hypoechogenic and anechogenic structures were detected in the uterine wall. Exploratory laparotomy revealed bilateral ovarian cysts and enlarged uterine horns and body. Ovariohysterectomy was performed. On the gross pathology, a foreign body was found in the left uterine horn and determinate as a part of the hay. Hormonally active
