    The lateral dental lamina in the lower incisor primordia of the sheep (Ovis aries, Ruminantia).

  • Original language description

    In the sheep, both the proper enamel organ and the lamina apparatus originated from a single incisor tooth bud. A mesially opened enamel niche filled with mesenchyme developed between lateral and general enamel lamina. The free edge of the dental laminaarose from a lingual outgrowing of the general enamel lamina to give rise to primordia of the successional dentition.
