Platinum Groups Elements and Their Influence on Pea Seedlings
Original language description
In the last ten years there has been noted the significant incensement in concentrations of platinum group elements in the environment. The main emission sources of platinum group elements to the environment are automotive catalysts, industrial ones andhospital wastes. Platinum content of road dusts can be soluble; consequently, it enters the waters, sediments, soil and finally, the food chain. Our work was aimed at investigation of influence of platinum and palladium on the seeds of pea (Pisum sativumL.) that were exposed to PtCl4 PdCl2 in concentrations 0, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 mýM. In the 8th and 12th day-long experiment, we evaluated the inhibition effects of platinum (Pt and Pd) on the growth of plants in their early stages of growth. Moreover, wemonitored the influence of platinum and palladium on chosen biochemical markers (content of protein and zinc).
