Enterococcus spp. is the most controversial group of lactic acid bacteria that have been ascribed with beneficial or detrimental role in food and feed. The aim of our study was to monitor the occurrence of Enterococcus spp. in the collected samples of meat and meat products. Isolates of enterococci were collected from meat samples and samples of environment that come in the contact with meat during manufacturing (n=41). Identification of isolates cultivated on MRS agar was done by the MALDI-TOF MS method and then confirmed using PCR method. Among 58 identified Enterococcus spp. were E. faecalis, E. faecium, E. gilvus, E. thailandicus, E. divriesei, E. hermanniensis, E. hirae, E. casseliflavus and E. durans.
