Use of Metabolomics for Monitoring Metabolic Responses Caused by Drug Administration 1. Application of Metabolomics in the Study of Drug-Drug Interactions and Toxicity of Xenobiotics

  • Original language description

This paper discusses the general aspects of metabolomics as a useful approach to investigation of responses of humans and animals to drug administration/treatment. It is also focused on the most important analytical methods applied in metabolomics, in particular on advanced hyphenated/combined analytical techniques such as GC-MS, LC-MS, LC-NMR and CE-MS. The use of metabolomics especially for monitoring of drug toxicity and drug-drug interactions is discussed in detail.
