Self-assembly of extremely uniform polymeric nanoparticles prepared by microfluidic mixing
Original language description
Purpose of the study was to prepare highly monodisperse polymeric nanoparticles which could be used as a model to study the effect of particles size to oral mucosa penetration capabilities in sublingual vaccination formulations. Herein model poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles were prepared by nanoprecipitation by microfluidic mixing platform NanoAssemblr. The quality of prepared nanoparticles was more than sufficient to use them for further study within our new mucoadhesive nanofibre-based sublingual vaccination patch system. Hence it can be assumed that microfluidics will become an indispensable tool for further development on the field of nanomedicine in the future.
