COVID-19 Pandemic and University Students’ Use and Acceptance of Online Learning

  • Original language description

In the first half of 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, universities were forced to move to emergency online learning. Unfortunately, the limitations of F2F teaching lasted not only for the rest of the academic year 2019/20 but also for almost the entire following academic year 2020/21. This study explores university students’ perceptions of their adoption, use, and acceptance of emergency online learning. Quantitative data were collected from 301 students at the University of Hradec Kralove at the end of the academic year 2020/21. The findings show how attitude, motivation, and use of technology play a significant role in the performance of students. Furthermore, this study presents suggestions on how to improve the acceptance of emergency online learning. © 2022, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
