Utilizing the parallel corpus InterCorp, which is a part of the Czech National Corpus, the research article investigates two works of fiction and their translation equivalents. It focuses on the analysis and comparison of lexical expressivity in the English-Czech and Czech-English parallel texts. The subject of the exploration are inherent and adherent expressivity. The classification of the excerpted tokens is followed by the analysis dealing with the possibilities of translation of expressivity of words into a target language.
