The eLearning forms of instruction at universities can be used in both gradual study programmes and lifelong education. eLearning can be applied in design of the distance study programmes, in the combined (part-time) form of instruction, or supporting present lessons (blended learning). At the beginning of 2009 a research on eLearning implementation started under the Czech Science Foundation Project Evaluation of the modern technologies contributing towards forming and development university students´ competences. Annual reports of Czech public universities from 1999 to 2008, which are available at their websites, were the main source of information.
