Experience Tourism in the Czech Republic

Tourism is one of the major sectors in the global economy. In the Czech Republic this sector has been experiencing a decline since the financial crisis and its share in the GDP declines. The tourism industry itself is growing, but more slowly compared toothers sectors in the Czech Republic. An interesting emerging area that could support the growth of this sector is creative tourism. The market for products of experience tourism in the Czech Republic is growing and there are new products every year. The aim of this paper is to characterize the demand as well as offers of experience tourism in the Czech Republic. Demand will be illustrated using data from a survey carried out among consumers not older than 26 years of age. Within the offers, the case study of chosen companies with experimental tourism products will be characterized.
