Foreign Language Didactics in Context of the Field: Case Study of the Czech Republic
Original language description
The paper deals with the process of establishing and development of field didactics with special focus on problems related to teaching/learning foreign languages. Despite been specific and different in numerous characteristics and developed in isolation from others, several common features were detected in foreign language didactics (FLD). Moreover, the experience collected in other, more developed field/subject didactics can work as inspiration; and limits and problematic areas detected in other field didactics can be avoided in FLD. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is to monitor and analyze the genesis, development, perspectives, limits, research and other problems of FLD, and propose ways to solving them.
