Chapter 24: Stone axes of Bohemian Eneolithic Period. Changing forms, context and social significance
Original language description
This chapter is providing an outline of changing forms, context and social significance of polished stone axes and battle-axes during the Eneolithic period in Bohemia. I am demonstrating how artefacts of an originally practical function became importantobjects of exchange and social interaction. Subsequently these same attributes demonstrate the differences between social categories in burial customs. Finally I am going to examine the stone battle-axes as a relic of stone symbols tradition in the earlyBronze Age.
