Fibres and advanced optical devices for a new networking strategy
Original language description
Fibre infrastructure is strategic asset for research and education networking. Fiberco is able to use "buy or bought" strategy for national fibre footprint development and for first mile procurement in USA. National fibre footprint in Czech republic is realized and overall length is 2 650km. Customer Empowered Fibre (CEF) networks are emerging technology, that gradually changes network topology, architecture and services from bottom of hierarchy to top. CEF means independence on carriers, and controlling network. Buying lambdas is mostly more expensive then leasing fibre in Central Europe. Single fibre with optical converters is cheaper than fibre pair. For long distance NIL GE (more than 200km) it´s possible to use optical amplifiers 24 - 27dBm and preamplifiers 10dBm with CWDM GBIC.
