    Sequencing-independent approach for characterisation of Staphylococcus

    MLST and spa-typing are considered the &quot;gold standard&quot; od Staphylococcus aureus genotyping, however, the cost and time demands make it unsuitable for the large isolates sets typing. In this study, we designed a new method combining high-resolution melting (HRM) analysis of MLST genes (mini-MLST) and spa gene (spa-HRM) resulting in a fast and cost-effective approach for routine typing of S. aureus.
