Cyclic nucleotides in platelets of genetically hypertriglyceridemic and hypertensive rats. Thrombin and nitric oxide responses are unrelated to plasma triglyceride levels.
Original language description
Prague hereditary hypertriglyceridemic rats represent a genetic model of hypertension with hyperlipidemia and insulin resistance. They are characterized by platelet hyporesponsiveness to thrombin which is not related to plasma triglyceride levels and cannot be explained by changes in cyclic nucleotide levels.
