Physiological characterization of osmotolerant yeast Pichia sorbitophila and comparison with a putative synonym Pichia farinosa.
Original language description
The osmotolerant yeast P. sorbitophila survives extremely high extracellular concentrations of salts and sugars, although it is not halophilic. Comparative physiological studies together with PCR-based gene analysis indicate that P. sorbitophila and P. farinosa are separate species.
