Time-intensity ratings of nasal irritation from carbon dioxide.
Original language description
Intensity of nasal irritation during presentation of carbon dioxid in the nose was studied in humans. Latent period of irritation onset was found to be dependendt of carbon dioxid concentration. Subjective intensity rose faster than it fell. Trigeminal endings regained sensitivity with very brief (300-500 ms) interruption in stimulus presentation. Nasal irritation from carbon dioxid showed relativerly rapid temporal dynamics.
