Intrahippocampal Injection of Endothelin-1: A New Model of Ischemia-induced Seizures in Immature Rats

  • Original language description

Intrahippocampal injection of Endothelin-1 (ET-1) in doses 10-40 pmol induced epileptic seizures in 80-100% of both P12 and P25 animals. Within 100 min after injection, both convulsive and non-convulsive were detected with video/EEG monitoring of freelymoving animals. After 24h epileptiform activity was still present in majority of animals, but seizures were non-convulsive. Morphological examination confirmed neurodegeneration in the injected hippocampus, which was more extensive in P12 than in P25 rats

Intrahipokampální injekce endothelinu-1, nový model epileptických záchvatů vyvolaných ischemií u mláďat potkanů

  • Czech description

Intrahipokampální injekce endothelinu-1 (ET-1) vyvolává epileptické záchvaty u 80-100% P12 i P25 potkanů.
