Functional dynamic compartmentalization of respiratory chain intermediate substrates: Implications for the control of energy production and mitochondrial diseases
Original language description
The role of cytochrome c and coenzyme Q was analyzed in the attenuation of the Complex II and Complex IV at pharmacological inhibition of respiratory flux. It allowed calculations of an exact stoichiometry between the respiratory chain complexes and thecofactors, cytochrome c and coenzyme Q, for skeletal muscle and liver. By these exact quantifications they revealed a reserve that can be recruited to maintain energy production when certain respiratory chain components are inhibited. The size of the reserve was again found to be different for the skeletal muscle and the liver

Funkční dynamická kompartmentalizace intermediátů respiračního řetězce: důsledky pro řízení produkce energie a mitochondriální nemoce
