Software for muscle fibre type classification and analysis
Original language description
Specialized computer programs for semiautomatic classification of muscle fibre types based on different staining of consecutive physical sections of muscle tissue is presented. An elastic registration algorithm is applied to warp the images to line-up corresponding control points determined by user. The mean luminance of the area outlined by the fibre contour is employed for the thresholds setting and the subsequent classification of the muscle fibre types. An instant visual feedback provides the user comprehensive information and the insight in the process of classification during the run of program. An exhaustive outline of the resulting classification in the form of MS Excel file is made available to the user. Described software is thoroughly testedon real-world data
