Xanomeline binding to and activation of muscarinic receptors
Original language description
Xanomeline binds reversibly to orthosteric binding site and irreversibly to another site of all subtypes of muscarinic receptors. In acute functional assays stimulates only M1/M4 subtypes. We demonstrated that irreversibly bound xanomeline also stimulates M2 receptors in cerebral cortex tissue
