Attention-Like Modulation of Hippocampus Place Cell Discharge
Original language description
This paper brings evidence that a dynamic attention-like process controls ensemble discharge of hippocampal place cells. It shows that overdispersion (apparent noise) in the place cell code can be reduced by training to selectively use one of available spatial reference frames and that the ensemble discharge can be decoded into different states, which facilitates location reconstruction
