Role of the Transmembrane Potential in the Membrane Proton Leak
Original language description
This study investigates the role of transmembrane potential using planar lipid membranes reconstituted with purified uncoupling proteins (UCPs) and/or unsaturated fatty acids. We show that high membrane potential significantly promotes the protonophoricfunction of UCPs in the presence of fatty acids
