Original language description

The program PATHd8 is based on the manuscript "Estimating divergence times in large phylogenetic trees" by Tom Britton, Cajsa Lisa Anderson, David Jacquet, Samuel Lundqvist and K?re Bremer, submitted to Systematic Biology. Port to the Plan 9 operating system was done by Petr Cejchan. Input is given as a phylogenetic tree with branch lengths. An arbitrary number of age constraints can be specified, either as fixage, minage or maxage. The output contains the chronogram obtained from the PATHd8 analysis aswell as a list of estimated node ages, their mean path lengths, and their estimated substitution rates. The output also contains results from the MPL analysis described in Britton et al. (2002), which can be of interest when there are no fossil datingsor if the clock hypothesis is of interest (a clock test is performed at each node). The program runs natively on a Plan 9 Release 4 OS.

Czech description

Program je založen postupu popsaném v práci Britton et al., 2006. Vstup tvoří fylogenetický strom s délkami větví a slibovolným množstvím časových omezení (fixní datum, minimální, nebo maximální datum). Výstupem je chronogram a výpis odhadů datování jednotlivých uzlů fylogenetického stromu, odhad vývojových rychlostí v jednotlivých větvích. Dále je prováděna též MPL analýza podle Britton et al. (2002), která je důležitá případě, že není datování pomocí fosílií, nebo chceme-li testovat hypotézu evolučních hodin. Program je navržen pro operační systém Plan 9.
