The paper presents the Poisson equation and its solution by the finite element method. A numerical example is show, where besides the exact solution also the exact discrete solution is explicitely known. This allows to compare the discretization error and the error in the approximate solution of the system of linear algebraic system.

Czech description
Článek prezentuje Poissonovu rovnici a její řešení pomocí metody konečných prvků. Ukazuje se numerický příklad, u kterého je explicitně známo kromě přesného řešení také přesné diskrétní řešení. Díky tomu je možné porovnávat diskretizační chyby a chybu vzniklou přibližným řešením soustavy lineárních algebraických rovnic.
