Dehalogenation Potential of Municipal Waste Incineration Fly Ash. II. Comparison of Dehalogenation Pathways of Fly Ash and Model Fly Ash with Thermodynamic Calculations.
Original language description
Dehalogenation of hexachlorobenzene (HCB) was studied on the extracted fly ash from the waste incinerator (MWI-FA) as well as on a model fly ash which contains silica gel, copper and carbon. The pathways of hexachlorobenzene dechlorination by MWI-FA andthe model fly ash were compared with thermodynamic calculations. It seems likely that the dehalogenation process is thermodynamically controlled and that the copper in the solid phase does not acts as the dehalogenation catalyst but predominantly as a reaction component only.
