Structure-Activity Relationship in the N2O Decomposition over Ni-(Mg)-Al and Ni-(Mg)-Mn Mixed Oxides Prepared from Hydrotalcite-like Precursors
Original language description
N2O decomposition over catalysts prepared by thermal decomposition of Ni-(Mg)-MIII (MIII = Al or Mn) hydrotalcite-like precursors was studied. Ni-Al and Mg-Mn catalysts exhibited high catalytic activity but catalysts containing both transition metal cations (i.e. Ni and Mn) were less active. Their lower activities were explained by different oxidation states of manganese and nickel in the mixed oxide systems. The presence of oxygen in reaction mixture caused inhibition of the reaction rate to the certain oxygen pressure, while at higher oxygen pressure the N2O conversion is nearly constant. Relationships between the observed activity and the amount of reducible components determined from TPR experiments and the portion of strong basic sites determinedfrom TPD experiments were discussed.

Vztah mezi strukturou a aktivitou Ni-(Mg)-Al a Ni-(Mg)-Mn směsných oxidů připravených z hydrotalcitů v reakci rozkjladu N2O
